Cuddlepie Early Childhood Learning Centre is a purpose-built service located in the heart of Wingham. It has been established since 1986 and has seen many children transition through this time.
We have a team of dedicated educators who have a range of qualifications including Trainees, Certificate III, Diploma, and an Early Childhood Teacher who oversees the Preschool Program, all passionate in providing quality education and care to the next generation.
A lot of the team are locals who were born in the area and are a part of the wider community with sporting events and hobbies alike. We also have a long-term volunteer who has been with the service for over 20 years.
Cuddlepie follow the Munch and Move recommendations to ensure that our menu meets nutritional requirements. All our meals are prepared onsite by our Cook who works 5 days per week. There is a serving window from the kitchen to the preschool room that often creates conversation on food being prepared for the day.
We have a designated space used to promote sustainability practices called Cuddlepie Gardens. We were able to create this space as part of the Start Strong Community grants program. Here the children learn about gardening and indigenous practices by growing native plants. The children are given the opportunity to grow, harvest and taste the produce and prepared on premises in our commercial kitchen. This program helps to promote healthy eating and fosters a sense of community.
As part of the regulatory requirements of childcare, Educators are required to provide an age-appropriate educational program using the Being, Belonging and Becoming Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Through this curriculum Educators will gather and anaylse information on children to inform the educational program whilst doing assessments and evaluations on children’s learning as part of the planning cycle. We use Storypark, an online platform for documentation allowing families to see information of the child and their participation in the program. We encourage families to provide information and feedback.
As educators we are here to support you and your child/ren into transitioning into care. We welcome the opportunity to be a part of your child’s learning journey.
